A farmers market is a food market where local growers, farmers and artisan food produces sell their wares directly to the consumers. Vendors may only sell what they grow, farm, pickle, preserve, bake, smoke or catch themselves from within a defined local area.

It's purpose is to enable food growers and producers to sell directly to the customer.  This also gives the customer the opportunity to meet and question the grower or producer about their product.  In the last few years, there has been a growing awareness of where our food comes from, and how far it has travelled (food miles) and what chemicals and methods have been used in growing that food.    The popularity of Farmers Markets is a worldwide phenomenon and a fantastic asset to the Bay of Plenty. 

Saturday Market 7.45am to 12noon at Tauranga Primary School, between Arundel St, Cameron Rd and 5th Avenue.

Eftpos is available at the market.     

Every Sunday, 9am to 1pm, Phoenix carpark, Downtown the Mount, rain or shine! 

A diverse range of local artisans and purveyors present some of the finest fresh produce, breads, pastries, cheese, meats, smoked fish, oils, relishes, juices, fresh cut flowers and other delicious edibles from the region. On January 28 and 29 2012 the skies over the Bay of Plenty will come alive with the sound of fighter planes for the biennial Tauranga City Airshow.  Balloon rides, live music, skydivers and gliders are just some of the attractions of this action packed event.

A celebration and showcase of Tauranga's diverse cultures, costumes, food and crafts. 

The Village on 17th will come alive with activities.  Cultural performances will take place throughout the day and food stalls will offer exciting food from many ethnic cuisines.
