South lauded over performance of stadium as sporting venue
The organisation behind the 2011 Rugby World Cup has praised the South for its involvement in the tournament. Rugby New Zealand 2011 tournament services general manager Nigel Cass, who was had been involved with the project since late 2004, visited Dunedin on Monday to thank those behind the event.

The OCT11 international visitor arrival stats have revealed a 16.8% hike in numbers over those recorded for OCT10.
The total number of visitors arriving for the Rugby World Cup 2011 is confirmed at 133,200 against a forecast of 95,000 for the JUL-OCT period. Statistics New Zealand says 53,200 fans arrived in OCT, adding to 80,000 who arrived between July and September.
RWC surge for AKL Airport
Total international passenger volumes through Auckland International Airport increased by 5.3% in SEP11 versus SEP10. Overseas international passenger arrivals were up 33.8% on SEP10 largely due to the Rugby World Cup, offsetting softer than usual NZ outbound travel.

AUCKLAND, 22 Sept. - South Africa overcame an error-ridden first half to finish strongly and rack up the tries in an 87-0 victory over Namibia at North Harbour Stadium on Thursday night. The Springboks ran in 12 tries, half of those coming in the last 20 minutes, after wing Bryan Habana had become their all-time leading try-scorer when he crossed in the opening half of the Pool D match.
