Unique all-black B777

Air New Zealand’s newest Boeing 777- 300ER has entered Boeing’s Seattle painting facility to receive a makeover that will see it become the world’s largest commercially operated aircraft painted all black. Painting of the aircraft will take just over a
week, with the aircraft expected out of the hangar during the coming weekend (NZ time) sporting its all black livery from nose to tail.

Da-svee-dah-nya To The Russian Rugby Team

The Russian Rugby Team left Marlborough on Monday lunch time after an amazing 12 days in the region. The highest compliment was paid by the team when they arrived back to Marlborough from their game in New Plymouth and they declared that they were ‘home’.

Russia v USA

Russia were outclassed by USA on their Rugby World Cup debut, losing 13-6 on Thursday in the lowest-scoring World Cup match since Australia beat England 12-6 in the 1991 final. USA coach Eddie O’Sullivan was delighted with the victory, which came in freezing rain at Stadium Taranaki. "It was a great victory for us,” he said after a match that had been billed as 'the clash of the superpowers'. “I thought it was a good match in these conditions. "As a coach I couldn't have asked for more. I couldn't be more proud of these boys."

Forwards lead the way in famous Irish win

Ireland have produced the top-shelf performance they needed to beat Australia at a Rugby World Cup, defeating the Tri Nations champions 15-6 at Eden Park on Saturday. After failing to topple the Wallabies on four previous World Cup occasions, including two one-point defeats, Ireland defied their recent poor form to claim the victory and assume control atop Pool C.

Ireland beat USA 22/10

Ireland ground out an unconvincing 22-10 Pool C victory against USA in freezing wind and rain at Stadium Taranaki on Sunday. Despite dominating possession and territory, the Irish were often frustrated by a ferocious Eagles defence and Brian O’Driscoll admitted his team played poorly. “We didn’t play well, we played to win. It’s a job done I suppose,” he said.
